The project is a subtly designed small-scale residential ensemble located in the Kirkonkylä district of Tuusula, consisting of two residential buildings and a courtyard sauna.
The design is guided by the scale of the surrounding area, the existing building stock, and the character of the environment. The entire building composition is carefully integrated with the topography and orientation of the site. The buildings form a clear-lined architectural entity, where the outdoor living areas open toward sheltered directions.
The façades combine white rendered surfaces, dark-toned wooden cladding, and natural stone walls.
The larger of the buildings is a two-storey house with a basement, positioned at the highest point of the plot. Inside, generous and open living spaces are vertically connected across floors. Expansive windows bring in abundant natural light and offer views over the yard. The courtyard sauna is situated in a more secluded corner of the plot and forms a coherent architectural part of the whole.
The smaller residential building offers a compact and efficient living solution. Designed as a light and airy two-storey structure, it complements the larger building with a balanced presence.
All buildings are heated with geothermal energy and are equipped with mechanical ventilation with heat recovery.
